Sponsored by: Preacher's Kids International, Inc. P O BOX 1737 ANTIOCH TN 37011-1737 David Gatewood was born in 1942. His father was a very prominent leader, missionary and College president in the Church of Christ denomination. David spent his early years in Germany just after WWII where his family was missionaries to the devastated German people. David was ordained as a minister and spent many of his years in the pastorate and as a missionary. He went on to receive clinical training in counseling and became a Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor in California where he was the founder and director of several successful counseling centers. He moved to Colorado in the late 1990’s to begin another counseling center. There he provided individual and couple counseling to hurting people as well as sharing his wisdom with post-graduate counselors in a formal internship program. In 1996, David joined Chonda Pierce with her vision to begin a ministry to PKs and was instrumental in helping the idea of PKI become a reality. He played a very active "behind the scenes" part in the first three Adult PK conferences. In 2000, David had a serious bout with cancer, which seemed to fade. But in 2001 David died in Colorado Springs. David is best remembered for his genuine love and care for those he ministered to and his quiet but strong nature.
